Still Tired After Eight Hours? 5 Reasons To Consider Sleeping Grounded

When you're already getting seven or eight hours, you want to wake up feeling like it. A grounding sheet adds an earth connection to your usual bed. Here are five reasons to consider it, including the research, everyday setup and 100-day trial.

An Earth Connection While You Sleep 🌍

It Fits Into The Night You're Already Making Time For

The alarm goes, you hit snooze, and the first thought is how tired you still feel. You went to bed early for a different kind of morning. Adding another elaborate bedtime routine may be the last thing you want.

A grounding sheet puts an earth connection into the bed you already use. Conductive fibres connect to a cord, which attaches to the earth pin of a properly grounded outlet.

Once set up, the underlay stays beneath your fitted sheet between washes. There is no daily session to schedule, battery to charge or app to run.

Your Body → Conductive Fabric → Earth Cord → Earth

Grounding means making that electrical connection. Follow the bedding guidance for the contact needed between you and the underlay.

Sleep Researchers Have Put Grounding To The Test

When the morning is your main concern, you want to know what was measured. Here's one published trial to read.

A 31-Day Placebo-Controlled Trial

A 2025 study enrolled 60 adults using grounded or placebo mats. The grounded group recorded more total sleep time, estimated by a movement monitor.

A Closer Look At Feeling Rested

Sleep-quality and daytime-sleepiness scores did not differ significantly between groups at the end of use.

These findings concern a different mat system. They do not establish that Cadian resolves unrefreshing sleep.

You Can Keep Your Own Fitted Sheet

Cadian is a flat underlay held in place by two lengthways straps. It sits above your mattress protector, with your fitted sheet over it. The supplied cord uses the outlet's earth connection, so the power switch can stay off.

Ok so I was super sceptical about a sheet that plugs into the wall but I have had it on the bed for 3 weeks and I actually fall asleep now?? I used to lie there for an hour with my brain running tomorrow. Still have busy days. I just get a night at the end of them.

Same. I thought it was going to feel like a gadget. It just feels like a sheet. The change was that I stopped fighting the pillow.

Been using this for about 2 months. Only bedroom thing I have stuck with. I still wake once. I do not stay awake for an hour anymore. That was the whole problem.

The 3am thing is me. I fall asleep fine and then I am up doing mental admin in the dark. Two weeks on this and I still surface, I just go back. I did not think a sheet would be the thing.

This is exactly my pattern. Ordering tonight before I talk myself out of it.

The wrecked-morning thing is so specific. People tell you to sleep more. I was already sleeping enough. I just was not getting anything from it.

Is this one of those things that only works if you already believe in it or can a normal tired person try it.

I bought it to prove my sister wrong. I still have it on the bed. I do not need you to believe anything. Plug it into the earth pin and give it two weeks.

Just finished the first month. I get down faster and I wake less stiff. I work on my feet so mornings used to be a negotiation. They are less of one.

I thought I was too young to wake up stiff. Desk job, same shuffle to the kettle. Two weeks in and I do not need the hallway warm-up.

The trial is the only reason I clicked through. I do not like being stuck with a $319 experiment. I did not need 100 nights. I needed about 12 to know my sleep had changed.

Can someone explain this like I am five. It is just a sheet that goes to the earth pin? Under the fitted sheet or instead of it?

Under your own fitted sheet. Two straps, one each side, head to foot. Cord to the earth pin, not the live pins. It is boring once you see it, which is why I trusted it.

Husband said it looked like I had lost it. Then he asked why I had stopped tossing at 1am. He now asks if it is plugged in before we go to sleep, which I find very funny.

I was that husband. I am also the one who notices when she washes it and the cord is out.

I track on a ring. I was not getting movement from the usual stack. First useful change was the floor of my deep sleep rose. Not a perfect night every night. Fewer useless ones.

Help With The Practical Details

Before It Goes On Your Bed

What Do I Need To Get Started?

Your Cadian grounding underlay, the supplied 4.6 m connection cord and a correctly wired, properly grounded outlet within reach. Check the outlet with a suitable socket tester or ask an electrician. Follow the bedding instructions for the materials above the underlay.

Do I Need To Turn The Power Switch On?

No. The supplied system connects to the outlet's earth pin. It does not use the live or neutral pins to power the sheet, and the wall's power switch can stay off. Use the supplied cord and a properly grounded outlet.

Where Does It Go In My Bed?

Cadian is a flat underlay that sits above your mattress protector and beneath your fitted sheet. One continuous strap runs from head to foot on each side. Contact depends on the bedding materials between your body and the underlay; check the product guidance or ask Cadian about your setup.

What Is The Sheet Made From?

Cadian's SteelWeave™ is 70% cotton and 30% stainless steel fibre. The stainless steel provides the conductive pathway through the fabric to the connection point. The sheet comes in Midnight and Stone.

How Do I Wash It?

Disconnect the cord before washing. Wash every 1–3 months and follow the care label for the wash settings. Hang dry. Do not tumble dry.

How Do The Trial And Warranty Work?

The sheet comes with a 100-day trial. Return it in good condition for a full refund if it isn't right for you; you pay return shipping and may keep the physical gifts. The sheet warranty totals three years: two standard years plus one extra year. See the product page and policies for the full terms.

Which Size Do I Need?

The Double/Queen underlay measures 153 × 190 cm; King measures 193 × 203 cm. Compare these with your mattress and check the product page for size, delivery and current offer details.

Ready To Try Sleeping Grounded?

See the sheet, choose your size and check the setup. You have 100 days to decide whether Cadian belongs in your bed.
